About MBSCA

The Melbourne Boston Sister Cities Association (MBSCA) was founded in 1985 under the auspices of the City of Melbourne’s sister city relationship with Boston. The Association is an independent incorporated community association and is the only formal sister city committee associated with the City of Melbourne’s international relations program.

Melbourne’s international sister city relationships are integral to the perception of Melbourne as a contemporary centre for business, education and cultural exchanges. As well as fostering international understanding and goodwill between cities, they also aim to cultivate economic and social benefits.

Melbourne and Boston, as vibrant, knowledge cities, share a reputation for artistic, academic and medical excellence.

The Melbourne Boston Sister Cities Association enhances the reputation of both cities as centres of knowledge excellence by facilitating connections between organisations and people, exchanging ideas and best practices, organising and sponsoring events and funding exchange programs.
