Hugh Rogers, AM, BCom was instrumental in founding the Melbourne Boston Sisters Association in 1985 and he continues to remain a driving force. Hugh recognised early on the importance of promoting educational exchange between Melbourne and Boston, particularly in the strengths of medical research and the arts. The Association has created a series of permanently funded reciprocal scholarships known as the Hugh Rogers Scholarships, to honor and continue Hugh’s outstanding contribution to the life of both cities. Hugh Thomson Rogers AM, BCom, was born 21.2.17 in Bendigo and raised in Elmore, Victoria. Hugh married Ilma Rogers (nee Steel) in 1941 and together they raised four sons.
Hugh has 12 grandchildren and 11 great grand children. Hugh attended Elmore Primary School and Bendigo High School and holds degrees from the University of Melbourne and Harvard University.
